Upgrades

We want your leather to reflect who you are, so most items are eligible for upgrades to personalise your pieces! These upgrades incur additional charge due to the cost of materials and/or labour time. 


BRASS HARDWARE

For reasons I don't yet fully understand, brass and brass-plated hardware is, in many cases, more expensive than its steel and nickel-plated equivalents. Additionally, some hardware components we use are not made in brass by our local suppliers, so we have to order these components by post. To avoid raising prices for the majority of kink shoppers seeking silver-coloured hardware, we've made brass hardware an upgrade, in which the upgrade cost is the difference in price of materials and nothing more (often a bit less!) to keep things reasonable for everyone. In some cases, the cost of the two material options is negligible, so the brass upgrade is free!

Brass, a copper alloy, is weaker than steel, but more resistant to corrosive damage; caring for your brass hardware may involve checking for dents or deformation more frequently than with steel, but with less diligence regarding water exposure and cleaning. It may also require more polishing if your item is not used frequently, but the nice thing about brass is that continuous friction with the leather is enough to keep it shiny and beautiful!


LOCKABLE BUCKLES

This is exactly what it says on the tin - a functional roller buckle with a loop in the tongue that takes a small padlock. Take the power dynamic imbued in your leather piece one step further and create a locking collar, cuff, or harness. Each buckle upgrade comes with a small (but functional!) padlock and two keys for you to give to whomever you please. This upgrade is only available for 20mm and 25mm straps at the moment due to hardware supply. 


TEXT STAMPING

On any product with a bit of plain leather space, you can fit custom text! The typeface is a 6.5mm-high classic leather-stamping sans serif; different typefaces will require a custom order. You can write literally whatever you want, I promise I don't care (and in fact am generally more a fan of the weird and extreme stuff), but  different designs will have different amounts of space, so be mindful of that when you choose your text. 

Plain stamping is just the embossing, and comes without paint, but you can add paint in just about any colour to make your text stand out! If you're not sure I'll have your colour, drop me a line on the contact form.
